She's CRAWLING!!!

Well...Addie's done it! She's learned to crawl. She first crawled last Thursday and she's just getting better at it each day. We went to the doctor for her 6 month check up on Friday and no one was a bit surprised after seeing how active Addison is.
I got a bit of it on video this morning. She's not fast, but she gets around enough so that she's pretty pleased with herself.

Another good improvement is that Addie is finally eating some solids. She's decided that she likes carrots. She opens her mouth wide open like a baby bird when those carrots come out. She also loves those veggie puffs. She's not so great at getting them in her mouth with much accuracy but she seems to like them when they do make it to her mouth.

Six month Stats:
Weight: 16 lbs. 3 oz. (70th percentile)
Height: 25 1/2 inches ( 80th)
Head: 42 cm (50th- she's got an average head now!!!)
*I'm not sure these percentiles are accurate. The doc looked them up really fast on a bell chart and they weren't written down. They seem a bit generous to me, but the important thing is that she is healthy and growing!

Trip to North Carolina

Addison and I just returned from visiting my sister and her family in North Carolina. We had so much fun! She has two adorable boys, Caleb and Toby. Toby isn't even two months old but he's already the same size as Addie!!!
Addie hit alot of milestones while we were there. She's on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. She's also getting into a sitting position on her own. I don't think it will be too long before she'll be crawling...she's very determined.

Here's a picture of Addison (6 months) and Toby (8 weeks):

Me (beth) and Addison

Here I am holding Toby. I asked Joyce to take a picture to prove that I am good with babies...just not my own. I could get Toby to sleep fairly easy since he is such an easy going guy. His fussing is heavenly compared to Addie's colicky nights. I guess I can't say that I didn't learn a lot from having a fussy baby.

Here's the birthday boy Caleb- who just turned three (a.k.a. "Spiderman")

Addie really enjoyed looking at the aquarium in the Discovery Museum we went to on Saturday.

Here's our big girl whose got places to go...she's growing up so fast!

My mom made both Toby and Addie these outfits so we took pictures of them on the couch.

Of course, our trip wasn't all fun and games. On the way home from the museum, the kids had a meltdown in the car. Here's a taste of what Ken, Joyce, and I went through:

I'm still having sleeping issues, but it seems like the past two nights have been better. I've given it to God and am certain it will all work out. I'd still appreciate your prayers that I will continue to sleep more each night.
Hope you enjoyed the hightlights of our trip!

A visit with the fam

Addie's still sleeping through the night. We've been looking forward to this time for so long, but it's not quite working out as expected. I have insomnia now. At first, I thought I was just waking because I was so used to getting up at night and my body just had to get used to it. But now, I'm thinking it's bigger than that. I went to the doctor and they've drawn some blood. I guess everything looks great, except that my liver enzymes are elevated. I have no idea what that means and I don't think the nurse practitioner I saw knew either. To make a long story short, I called my O.B. and explained my situation and they prescribed Ambien (a sleeping aid). I slept great the first night but not the following two. I don't know what to do. Addie and I leave to go visit Joyce and her family tomorrow in North Carolina so my anxiety over this issue keeps growing. Any advice...besides quit worrying? I've tried that and I'm not very good at it.

Anyway, on Wednesday we got together with the Wilson's, Morgan's, and the other Hunt's from Cali...
Here are some pictures of the "girls":

This video below is pretty cute of Sydney and Addison together. I think Rowan was a bit bored with them. They couldn't talk or walk, etc. but the babies were very amused with themselves.

Bathtub Adventures & a visit to Daddy's work

Addison was getting too big for the baby bathtub we were still using in the sink. She would splash so much that we were about as soaked as she was when it was all said and done. She seems to really love her turtle bathtub.

Here she is enjoying her crib aquarium. She has always enjoyed looking at it, but now that she can reach it and spin the toys, she's discovered it's double the fun!

She was "petting" Kaylee yesterday afternoon, so we got some shots of the two of them together.

We went to Micah's work (SERC) today. I went against my instincts which told me to stay home and make sure she got her nap because I wanted to see what his work was like (I hadn't been there yet). Boy, did I pay this afternoon. She slept on the way home for about 15 minutes and decided that she had plenty of sleep to last her for the next few hours. We had fun while we were there though!!!!

Micah had her working on her muscles,

balancing,

measuring,

and typing.

Whew!!! Addie told me on the way home that she couldn't wait until "Take your daughter to work day" next spring. Maybe daddy will have something a bit more challenging for her to do!
