Addison's sponge bath!!!

Addison wasn't all that thrilled at bath time. We just finished washing & drying her hair and she was letting us know that she wanted us to stop!!! Thankfully, she calmed down fairly quickly.

Here's a picture of Addison with a blanket that one of my students made her. The little girl who made this is in fourth grade now and she and her Nana worked on it together. I thought she would like to see that Addison really appreciates her handywork. :)

Micah and Addison finished the day with some reading. Micah looks like he's trying to persuade her to like sci-fi, but I think I'll stick with some good old Dr. Seuss and Richard Scarry books. I guess it's good that we're reading to her, and not so much what right now. Besides- it's never too early to read to a child, right?

So, So Cute!

Addison is quite a talent! She does this funny trick with her toes where she separates them so far apart, her big toe looks like a thumb!!! By the way, those are just like Micah's feet--- he has long monkey toes too.

Here's Addison all swaddled up on our bed. She has discovered that's the place to be. Everytime we lay her down in her bassinet, she cries something awful. Grandma has been holding her a lot at night to give Micah and me a chance to sleep. I guess she's just one of those cuddlers that doesn't like to lay by herself for very long. Boy, do we have our work cut out for us!

Addison got so many adorable clothes. Here is an outfit that we got from our friends, the McConnells. We had to take a picture before she spits up on it or, worse yet, has an explosion in her diaper!!!

A few more pictures...

Here's my Pudgy Patriot Picture!

Addison was getting burped when this picture was taken.

Stargazing.

Meet Addison Sue Hunt!

Well, we'
ve finally named our little girl! The hospital made her an adorable pink bracelet with the name Addison Sue spelled out in beads! She's modeling it for you in this picture!

We came home from the hospital today and Lucas and Kaylee got to meet her for the first time. Kaylee was as gentle as can be. She even tried to share her ball with Addison.

Lucas was extremely curious so we had to take a bit more precaution with him. Addison is a bit mad because her hat is covering her eyes!!!

Addison has a complete head of dark brown hair that is somewhat wavy. It's just like I had pictured it would be...I once had a dream that I pulled her out of the top of my uterus to say "Hello Baby" and she had a head full of dark hair. Of course, I put her right back in there and told her to stay there because it wasn't time to come out yet. I'm really serious...I dreamed this about my seventh month and in my dream the baby was a girl. I guess that should have been a sign that we were having a girl.

We had lots of wonderful visitors that brought many cute little girl clothes. Addison made quick friends with one particular visitor, Sydney, who was one month old yesterday. She has grown so much so we thought it would be fun to see the difference in size between the two girls. They didn't have much to say, but as you can see, they became buddies instantly!

It's a girl!

She was born Friday, February 17th at 7:06pm. She weighs 7 lbs. 11 oz. and is 19.5 inches long. Under her ever-present pink hat is a full head of dark brown hair! She has 10 fingers and 10 "monkey toes" which she got from her dad! Beth starting having painful contractions Thursday night at 10pm which continued on through the night. So by the time we went to the hospital Friday morning at 9, I had gotten 1 hour of sleep and Beth got about half of that. But, other than being exhausted, everything went well and we have been blessed with a cute little girl.

Look at that chubby little face!

I sneaked (or is it snuck?) in to the nursery to take this one.

And yes, we're still trying to figure out her name.

Due Date - 2/16/06

Well, today's the due date let's see how things are going.

Alright then.

I guess that if someone was carrying me around, feeding me, and letting me nap whenever I wanted, I wouldn't want to leave either. Good news though, Beth has been showing signs of early labor today. Now granted, from what she tells me, early labor can last for days so we're trying not to get our hopes up. But one can never tell...

Oh yeah, I added the above picture to the belly parade pics that we posted a while back.

Still no baby!!!

Today was (hopefully) our last doctor's appointment, since I'm due this Thursday. But, I went ahead and scheduled one for next week...and I'll probably make it to that one too! We went on a really long walk with the dogs tonight to try and speed up the process. It doesn't look like our little one is in a big hurry to get out of my womb though. I guess God makes these last two weeks of pregnancy miserable so that you're not so scared of the labor part. I know I'm a lot more excited to see the baby than I am scared of labor pain. If I don't go by my due date, the mid-wife said that they'd let me go over a week and a half. YIKES!! That means I'll be induced on February the 27th! The bright side to look at this is that NO MATTER WHAT- we will meet our baby in two weeks tops! We'll keep you posted if anything happens between now and our appointment next Monday.

On Friday, we had a family night with the Wilsons and the Morgans. We got to spend time with Sydney (Brenna & Jeff's baby)- who will be a month old on the 18th. She's growing so quickly! Isn't she a cutie?

Baby Appointment - 38.5 weeks

We went to our next to last scheduled appointment today! We saw the midwife and she said that all of the measurements look good. Beth's BP was approx. 120/70 and the baby's HR was 137. We've noticed that over the past 1-2 weeks Beth's belly has been descending. She now has more room to breathe but when the baby moves around it's a bit uncomfortable (my words, not hers). I guess all the signs are saying that we don't have a lot of time left. We have our bags packed and are now waiting for the little one to let us know when it's time. Only 10 more days till the due date!

My Focal Point

During our birthing classes, we were told that it's easier to get through a contraction when you have something to focus on as a distraction. This is my focal point....aren't they adorable? They're so innocent and sweet! Unfortunately, they have no idea how their life is going to change in less than 2 weeks!

Apparently, I'm dumb

I realized that I had the comment settings so that only bloggers could leave their, um, comments. So it's fixed now. And again, I'm not intelligent. Thank goodness my wife does the thinking for us.

Flashback - Halloween 2005

I just thought that I'd throw this in the blog as well. This last Halloween Beth and I were trying to figure out what we could dress up as given her "condition". We decided on a couple that has been in the media a lot over that past year. Any guesses?

answer: Britney and Kevin
